CULINARY HERITAGE
Educational pastimes are organized in the farmstead – “Taste Samogitia” (lith. “Paskanauk Žemaitijos”), during which Samogitian meals are presented and the willing guests observe and participate in their making.
The mistress of the farmstead Janina wearing ethnic robes greets the guests with a Samogitian song and naturally leavened kvass. All of the meals presented during the education program are served in authentic and nominal earthenware utensils of the farmstead, the meals are tasted by using wooden spoons.
The guests are treated with Samogitian dish made of beaten cream (lith. kąstinys), cold Samogitian soup “Cibulynė”, sauerkraut soup, hempen, cold kefir soup with baked herring and a lot of peppers “Šmakalas”, silky mush with herring, potatoes with peel, hotchpotch, zeppelins, potato pudding with shank, homemade sausages with stewed cabbages, Samogitian eats and hot apple pie. In addition, according to wishes, chowder is cooked according to the farmstead mistress’ recipe. All of the meals are prepared “here and now”. Education program lasts from 1 to 3 hours.

The large area of the farmstead allows up to 50 people to feel private at the same time.
